Former Santa Clarita resident Kenneth Strange Jr. is scheduled to host a book signing Saturday from 1-4 p.m. at The Open Book to commemorate his recently published book titled, “It’s Your Camino: One Couple’s 500-mile Pilgrimage Across Spain.”

The signing is to be held at the store, 19188 Soledad Canyon Road, according to Strange, who said in an email that his book was inspired by the film, “The Way.”

The book details the journey of a husband and wife who travel along the historic Camino de Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain. Their 500-mile, 31-day pilgrimage from the Pyrenees Mountains in France to the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain is an uplifting tale about overcoming emotional and physical challenges in the pursuit of a dream, according to Strange.

The local author added that he fell in love with Spain while still in high school and his thirst for travel and adventure has taken him to more than 65 countries.

Walking the Camino is about adventure and a lifelong love of Spain, both of which shine through in “It’s Your Camino,” according to Strange.
