Chabad of SCV is accepting donations and grocery store gift cards for families who are struggling amid the government shutdown.
“We’ve been informed that, due to the ongoing government shutdown, many families in our community have received notice that their EBT benefits will be delayed. For some, this means a real concern about putting food on the table in the coming weeks,” said an email announcement distributed by Chabad of SCV.
Beginning Nov.1, Chabad of SCV is offering free food packages for local families in need. Packages will include poultry, dairy, produce, baby food, and grocery gift cards, the announcement said.
