Connolly named to chancellor’s honor roll at the University of Mississippi 

Caitlyn Connolly, of Santa Clarita, was named to the University of Mississippi’s spring 2025 honor roll lists. 

Connolly, majoring in sport and recreation administration, was named to the chancellor’s honor roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.00. 

To be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester. 

The University of Mississippi, affectionately known as Ole Miss, is the state’s flagship university. Its 16 academic divisions include a major medical school, nationally recognized schools of accountancy, law and pharmacy, and an Honors College offering a blend of academic rigor, experiential learning and opportunities for community action. Ole Miss’ main campus is in Oxford. 

Local students earn degrees from George Fox University 

Several local students were among the undergraduate, accelerated online degree and graduate-level students who received diplomas from George Fox University at its spring graduation ceremony in May.  

The following students earned degrees: 

• Sharon Tomei, of Agua Dulce, bachelor of arts in psychology. 

• Alec Bareng, of Santa Clarita, bachelor of arts in psychology. 

• Shane McClendon, of Santa Clarita, bachelor of arts in psychology. 

George Fox University is a Christian college classified by U.S. News & World Report as a “Best National University.” More than 4,000 students attend classes on the university’s campus in Newberg, Oregon, and at teaching centers in Portland and Redmond, Oregon.
