Amanda Alatorre named to dean’s list at Tufts University 

Amanda Alatorre, class of 2028, of Canyon Country, was named to the dean’s list at Tufts University for the spring 2025 semester. Dean’s list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater. 

Tufts University is located on campuses in Boston, Medford/Somerville and Grafton, Massachusetts, and in Talloires, France. 

UTampa Student Gabriel Valle earns dean’s list honors 

Gabriel Valle, of Valencia, earned dean’s list honors at University of Tampa as a sophomore in the spring 2025 semester. Valle is majoring in film and media arts. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the dean’s list. 

The University of Tampa is a private, comprehensive university located on 110 acres on the riverfront in downtown Tampa. The University has about 200 programs of study and serves approximately 11,450 students from 50 states and most of the world’s countries. 

2 local students graduate from Alabama 

Over 6,000 degrees were awarded during The University of Alabama’s spring 2025 commencement ceremonies at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa.  

Local students graduating include: 

• Kailee Velasco, of Valencia, who received a bachelor of arts degree. 

• Ariana Wong, of Canyon Country, who received a master of science degree.   

The University of Alabama, part of The University of Alabama System, is the state’s flagship university. UA provides over 200 degree programs and is the state’s largest higher education institution. 

Valencia resident named to Clark University’s spring dean’s list 

Jeremy S. Baranda, of Valencia, was named to first honors on the Clark University dean’s list. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the spring 2025 semester. 

Students must have a GPA of 3.8 or above for first honors or a GPA between 3.50 and 3.79 for second honors. 

Founded in 1887, Clark University is a liberal arts-based research university in Worcester, Massachusetts, offering 33 undergraduate majors and more than 30 advanced degree programs.
