Lois Eisenberg concludes her (Dec. 9) letter on rising McDonald’s prices pushing away its low-income customers with the old saying, “The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer.” Yes, Lois, that’s a fact of life because it’s one of the fundamental laws of nature, but keep in mind it doesn’t help to raise a teenager’s part-time hourly wage to the point where it begins to resemble a college graduate’s full-time starting salary. What did you think was going to happen with that? Honestly!
I’ll conclude this letter with another “old saying.” “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
