Re: “They Shouldn’t Be A Political Prop,” nation-world page, Feb. 14.

Once again The Signal’s editorial policy and political opinions are apparent in the printing of the above article, which discusses parents opposing student Immigration and Customs Enforcement protests in the states of Washington and Texas. We don’t see an article supporting their decision to march. The Signal is very selective in the national news articles they choose to print.

Well, good for the students. I’m a baby boomer who walked out of my high school as part of a political protest march in 1968. This is the time in life when teenagers begin to awaken to the world around them and form their own opinions. They should be encouraged to form and express their thoughts. If that includes protest marches — once again, good for them.
