The Samuel Dixon Family Health Center Inc. is inviting the community to come together for a day of fun, friendly competition and philanthropy at the nonprofit’s fourth annual cornhole tournament, scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Lucky Luke Brewing Co.
With the theme “Tossing Bags for a Cause: Supporting Mental Health, One Bag at a Time,” this event raises funds to support the growing need for mental health services in the Santa Clarita Valley, said a release from the Dixon center. “As more children, families and individuals seek behavioral health support, events like this help ensure that those facing financial barriers can still access vital counseling, therapy, and integrated care services.”
Community members, businesses, and cornhole enthusiasts of all skill levels are invited to participate in the tournament. Spectators and supporters are also welcome to attend, enjoy the festivities, and take part in the silent auction and community celebration.
Team registration is $100 per two-person team, and sponsorship opportunities are also available. Teams will compete for cash prizes and bragging rights while supporting a cause that touches thousands of local residents each year. Teams are encouraged to register early as space is limited. Team registrations can be completed by visiting www.sdfhc.org/sdfhc-cornhole-tournament.
“We started this event four years ago to bring the community together while supporting an essential part of whole-person care,” Dixon center CEO Philip Solomon said in the release. “Mental health services are a critical need, and this event helps ensure our community continues to receive compassionate and accessible care.”
