News release
The Santa Clarita Artists Association is presenting a show of work from 21 local artists through baskets, boxes, sculpture, gourds, and other unique presentations in all media starting this weekend, as the SCAA explores “the diverse world of vessels,” the organization announced in a news release.
The show run dates are Friday through April 4, with a free opening reception scheduled 5-8 p.m. Saturday.
The group exhibition examines the concept of the vessel as both physical object and symbolic form. It brings together works by local artists working across diverse media.
“We are so excited about this unique theme and the different artwork it has brought into the gallery by attracting new members in basketry, assemblage and pottery,” 2026 SCAA Gallery Chair Tobi Beck said in the release. “Getting to showcase more 3D, sculpture artwork, in addition to our familiar 2D favorites, will be a treat for gallery guests and they are sure to see things they definitely have not seen here before.”
The reception on Saturday is planned to include live entertainment provided by Isabella Bazler performing a mix of today’s hits. In addition to viewing the art, there will be live demonstrations of basketry by artists Jennifer Tang Limon and Rosalie Kessing Annison, and pottery by Jennifer Salter. Light refreshments will be available to gallery guests.
The SCAA Gallery is located at 22508 6th St., Old Town Newhall. Show hours are 5-8 p.m. Fridays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
