Pastor Stephen Meadors, a “cowboy preacher,” is scheduled to speak 10 a.m. Sunday at Friendly Valley United Methodist Church.
In times past Meadors herded cattle on the Bar H Ranch between Nocona, Texas, and the Red River, and worked his family farm in Bowie.
These days he rides a racing bike on the trails of Santa Clarita.
After his sermon are light refreshments. The event is free to attend. The location is in an area once known as Honby Ranch, at 19246 Avenue of the Oaks, in Newhall. Take Sierra Highway to Friendly Valley Parkway, turn downhill to a guard gate, and ask for directions to the United Methodist Church. Parking is free.
