News release
The Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry has announced the appointment of Peter Warda as executive director. Warda, who has been serving as interim executive director since February, will now continue to lead the organization in its mission to alleviate hunger and serve families and individuals throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, according to a news release from the nonprofit organization.
Warda previously served as senior vice president and chief policy officer at The Musella Group, where he worked with the local business community and non-profit sector, the release said.
“We are thrilled to welcome Peter as our permanent executive director,” Andrew Taban, board president of the pantry, said in the release. “His service to our community has already proven transformative for our organization. Peter’s ability to build relationships, navigate complex challenges, and deliver results has been remarkable. We are excited about this new chapter of leadership and look forward to working together to expand our impact and continue serving those in need.”
Warda said in the release: “It is an honor to step into the role of executive director of the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry. This organization has been a cornerstone of support for our community for over 40 years, and I am committed to strengthening and expanding that impact. By working closely with our board, volunteers, and partners, we will continue to meet the growing need and ensure that no family in the Santa Clarita Valley goes hungry.”
The Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry has been serving the SCV community since 1985, providing food assistance to thousands of families each month.
