Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley is celebrating 15 years of serving families experiencing or at risk of homelessness while marking 18 months since opening its Resource Center and Interim Housing facility, the nonprofit organization announced in a news release.
“Together, these milestones reflect the organization’s continued commitment to helping families achieve stability through compassionate services, innovative programs, and strong community partnerships,” the release said.
Since opening the Resource Center, Family Promise has expanded its ability to provide comprehensive, family-centered services in one location, the release said.
Through interim housing, homelessness prevention, rental assistance, housing navigation resources, intensive case management, financial and employment workshops, children’s services, and connections to community resources, families receive the tools and support they need to build lasting stability, the release said.
During fiscal year 2025-26, Family Promise served 140 families, including 168 children, according to the release. Through funding awarded by the city of Santa Clarita through the Local Solutions Fund (Measure A), Community Development Block Grant, and CDBG CARES Act programs, the organization also provided rental assistance to 111 families, helping families remain safely housed and preventing homelessness whenever possible, the release said.
Over the past three fiscal years, the organization’s impact has continued to grow, increasing from 74 families served in FY 2023-24 to 105 families in FY 2024-25 and 140 families in 2025-26.
“As we celebrate 15 years of serving families, I’m reminded that none of this happens alone,” Carmen Garcia, executive director of the nonprofit, said in the release. “I’m incredibly grateful to our staff, board of directors, volunteers, donors, community partners, and especially the city of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita City Council for investing in families through the Local Solutions Fund (Measure A), CDBG, and CDBG-CV programs. Together, we’ve helped more families find stability and hope, and we’re committed to continuing this work for years to come.”
The nonprofit is inviting the community to support its mission by participating in Family Promise’s 7th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, Sept. 21, at The Oaks Club at Valencia. The event brings together local businesses, community leaders, and supporters to raise funds that help families experiencing or at risk of homelessness build brighter futures.
