Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians is scheduled to host its 32nd annual Heart of Tataviam Pow Wow to celebrate Native American culture on Saturday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 4, starting at 10 a.m. at Hart Park.
Brandy Manning, culture division manager of the organization, said the event will have about 60 vendors for the community to enjoy during the celebration. She added that it is open to the public.
“We actually love to invite all community members, especially if you’ve never been to a pow wow, or you don’t have a lot of experience with being in the native community because we will have information signs, we will have all of the tribes, different departments and entities out there to kind of educate on the community, on the things that we offer, the things that we do, our different programs,” Manning said.
The event will have dance numbers, native arts and crafts, and cultural demonstrations.
Hart Park is located at 24151 Newhall Ave., Newhall.
