The community is invited to celebrate the heritage, traditions and vibrant culture of Filipino Americans at the FIL-AM Festival: A Celebration of Culture, Community, and Family, on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Newhall Community Center, 22421 Market St., Newhall.
This free, family-friendly festival will bring together residents from across the Santa Clarita Valley and beyond for a day of cultural enrichment, entertainment, food, shopping and community connection, said a news release from the organizers.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of authentic Filipino food and beverages, browse local vendors and shopping opportunities, and enjoy live music, cultural performances, and entertainment that highlight the rich traditions and artistic expressions of the Philippines, the release said.
A special Cultural Fashion Show will showcase traditional and contemporary Filipino attire, offering a colorful display of the country’s diverse heritage and regional influences. Sports enthusiasts can also enjoy a basketball tournament, celebrating one of the most beloved pastimes within the Filipino community.
