Foothill track & field roundup: Slim victory margin for Saugus, Valencia

The Saugus High girls track team edged Valencia High 70-66 on Wednesday. The Vikings boys won 73-63.

For the Cents girls, Mariah Castillo took first in the 800-, 1600-, and 3200-meter runs.

Cheyenne Cheshier came in first in the 300 hurdles, long jump and high jump for Valencia.

Sam Pica came in first in the 400-meter dash and the high jump for the Vikings boys.

Blake Walkowiak swept in throws for Saugus.

West Ranch 83.5, Canyon 52.5 (girls)

West Ranch’s Bailey Pate came in first in the 200 and 400; Amber Racina came in first for triple jump and pole vault. The Cowboys’ Seanna Nalbandyan swept in hurdles.

Canyon 93, West Ranch 43 (boys)

Steven Arrington won the 100 and 200 for the Cowboys, while Camden Apsay came in first in the long jump and triple jump.

Golden Valley 90, Hart 41 (girls)
Hart 68, Golden Valley 66 (boys)

Individual results were not available for the Golden Valley/Hart dual meet.
