News release

Samuel Dixon Family Health Center is scheduled Oct. 5 to host the return of its annual fundraiser, The Duck Dash.

Now in its 22nd year, this fun-filled community event is scheduled Sunday, Oct. 5, at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center, “bringing families and friends together for an exciting day of activities while supporting affordable and accessible health care services for all,” the health center said in a news release.

The event will feature thousands of rubber ducks racing in multiple heats throughout the day. Guests can also splash around in the kids activity pool and test their diving skills in the dive pool with accompaniment from a DJ.

Admission is $5 per duck race entry, which can be purchased by visiting www.sdfhc.org/duckdash2025, or in person at the event. Entrants have a chance to win the top prize of a family four-pack to Disneyland.

Vendors will be providing interactive activities such as sensory bins, calm bottle making, a duck-o-ration booth, balloon artists and a photo booth to capture the memories. Select local nonprofits and businesses will also be in attendance providing resources, information and giveaways.

The health center was founded in 1980 by the Rev. Samuel Dixon in the community of Val Verde and is the only nonprofit community health center founded and based in the Santa Clarita Valley. More than 20,000 visits occur annually throughout its seven locations.
