Golden Oak Adult School, part of the William S. Hart Union High School District, announced that online registration for the spring 2026 semester begins Dec. 8.
Golden Oak continues its mission to meet the educational needs of the Santa Clarita community by empowering learners with academic, career, and technical skills, preparing them for post-secondary education, today’s changing workforce, and civic involvement, the school said in a news release.

Golden Oak is heavily focused on providing direct pathways to in-demand jobs, featuring several free workforce training programs:
● Bilingual Instructional Assistant: Prepares learners to support English language students and effectively communicate with non-English speaking families.
● Caregiver Basics: Aligns with California Home Care Aide Registry standards, covering health, safety, and complex physical support skills.
● Special Education Instructional Assistant: Focuses on special education law, IEPs, and behavioral strategies for paraprofessional roles.
● Substitute Teacher Best Practices: Provides essential classroom management and instructional skills for professional substitute educators (Prerequisite: Bachelor’s Degree or higher).
Health Care Career Programs
Enrollment is also open for high-demand, comprehensive medical career training programs:
● Certified Medical Assistant: A comprehensive program including hands-on clinical and administrative training.
● Phlebotomy Technician – CPT I License: Offered in partnership with UCLA, this course meets all California licensing requirements and includes the textbook, skills lab, and clinical rotation placement.
● Pharmacy Technician — CPhT License: Prepares students for various pharmacy settings. The national CPhT certification exam fee is included.
● CPR: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals: An American Heart Association certification valid for two years.
Technology and Academic Programs
The school offers a range of courses to boost digital literacy and complete academic goals:
● Technology & Computer Skills: Build essential comfort and proficiency through classes such as Basic Computer Skills and Intermediate Computer Skills, and specialty courses such as Microsoft Excel Basics and Google IT Support Certification.
● Academic Courses: Ongoing enrollment is available for students seeking to complete their Diploma or prepare for the Equivalency (GED or HiSET) exams.
● Free English as a Second Language: Practice and improve all four language components (reading, writing, listening, speaking) for real-world situations. New students must register online for an assessment appointment.
● Citizenship Preparation: Prepare for the U.S. citizenship interview by learning U.S. history and government while improving English skills.
