Congregation Beth Shalom hosted a community-wide Hanukkah kick-off party on Sunday night, the first night of Hanukkah. The event featured a menorah lighting, music, latkes and an “ugly Hanukkah sweater” contest. The community’s Hanukkah celebrations continue on the eighth night with the annual community menorah lighting and celebration at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Valencia Town Center mall.
