Registration is open for the annual Winter 5K hosted by The Master’s University. This year’s event is taking place Saturday and invites local runners to start 2026 with a scenic run through Placerita Canyon and Quigley Canyon Open Space.
“Since 2011, The Master’s University Winter 5K has been a favorite among Santa Clarita’s runners thanks to the welcoming atmosphere and community partnerships,” the university said in a news release.
The race features a flat course with varying terrain and is open to participants of all ages. The 2026 event has three groups: Kids 1K; Run/Walk 5K; and, the 5K Challenge.
Registration for all three brackets will be open through Thursday, and race day registration is also expected to be available.
The 5K Challenge will be limited to participants whose goal is to complete the race in around 35 minutes or under. The traditional 5K Run/Walk will take place immediately following the 5K Challenge.
