News release

Circle of Hope Inc., a Santa Clarita-based nonprofit dedicated to providing emotional, educational and financial assistance to local individuals and families affected by cancer, announced it will host its inaugural pickleball tournament Aug. 29-30 at The Paseo Club in Valencia.

This two-day event will bring together pickleball enthusiasts, community leaders, local businesses, sponsors and supporters for a weekend of friendly competition — all while raising funds to help cancer patients in the Santa Clarita Valley, said a news release from the organization.

The tournament will feature competitive play, community engagement, sponsor activations, opportunity drawings, and awards, the release said.

“Every registration, sponsorship and donation directly supports local cancer patients who are facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I can speak from experience at how vital these resources are when you are going through such a difficult time,” Collette Sobray, board member and committee chair, said in the release. “As a breast cancer survivor and avid pickleball player myself, I, along with the rest of the board, are excited to launch what we hope becomes one of Santa Clarita’s signature charitable sporting events while introducing even more people to Circle of Hope’s mission.”

Circle of Hope provides free support services and financial assistance to qualified cancer patients throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. According to the release, funds raised from the tournament will allow Circle of Hope to continue providing financial assistance for qualified cancer patients, emotional support services, educational resources, wellness therapies, and support groups for patients, survivors, caregivers and families.

The Paseo Club is located at 27650 Dickason Drive, Valencia. For tournament registration ($75), sponsorship opportunities or additional information, visit bit.ly/COHpickleball2026
