The West Ranch High School jazz ensemble is scheduled to host the Glenn Miller Orchestra for a one-night concert on Tuesday, March 10, to help fundraise for the school’s music program. The night will begin with an opening performance from the West Ranch jazz band and then the orchestra will perform some of Miller’s famous tunes.

On Dec. 15, the Valencia Christian Center (VCC) will host their first Jazz & Comedy Concert Experience at the senior center. The night will open with performances of jazz gospel music performed by a variety of artists including violinist Karen Briggs, drummer Laval Belle and pianist Myron McKinley, who also works as the musical director for Earth Wind & Fire. The second half of the night will be devoted to a comedy show by Broderick E. Rice, who will also emcee the evening.
The “Songs for Saugus: A Night of Jazz” concert will be held at Vincenzo’s Pizza in Newhall on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The concert was initially meant to raise funds for the jazz programs at Valencia High School, but the music program then decided to give those funds to help the families affected by the Saugus shooting cover their medical bills and otherwise recover.
