Einstein winter athletes honored in 4 sports

The Albert Einstein Academy boys soccer team had an unprecedented season, going a perfect 9-0 in Omega League play to earn its first-ever league title.

The Rockets have made history once again with a record nine players awarded All-Omega League honors.

Chaz Carl was named the league’s most valuable player and Ken Erenberg was named Coach of the Year.

Samy Couja, Philip Stulman, Sam Stulman, Michael Hovsepain and Marshall Wood were all named first team.

Tyler Barton, Reuben Abraham and Seth Garden earned second team recognition.

Einstein boys soccer’s season ended in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 6 playoffs.

The Rockets’ girls soccer team had seven players recognized by the Heritage League.

First team honors went to Jacquline Morrison, Ariann Landaverde, Bryanna Yalung and Claire Robinson. Shayna Gruman, Jaclyn Bogdan and Brooklyn Dib each were named second team.

The Rockets went 9-7 overall and 9-3 in league play before falling to California Academy of Math and Science in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 7 playoffs.

From the boys basketball team, which competes in the Omega League, Justin Barker was named first team and Justin Kreisberg was named second team.

The Rockets finished 7-10 overall and 6-7 in league.

In girls basketball, Helen Rodriguez and Sam Sterba made first team All-Omega League, while Sadie Sheridan made the second team.

The Rockets won a playoff game for the first time in program history, then advanced to the quarterfinals of the Division 6 playoffs with a second-round win over Calvary Murrieta.

Einstein finished the season 14-9.
