The Santa Clarita Christian varsity softball team beat Albert Einstein Academy 16-4 on Monday at the Hart Complex.

Cardinal pitcher Hailey Aguilar struck out nine batters and went 3-of-5 at the plate.

Austen Hermanson went 3-of-3 with a triple and three RBIs for SCCS (2-1), while teammates Sydnee Skinner and Cassidy Oliver each had three hits.

La Canada 377, Valencia 400

Viking Cole Scully earned the medalist honors at Woodley Lakes golf course in Van Nuys with a 3-under 69.

Evan Shepard shot a 78 for Valencia, which opened its season with a win over Ventura earlier in the week.

The Centurions swept in singles and won all but one set in doubles.

Rio Mesa sank the Centurions (1-3) with a two-run walk-off home run in Oxnard. For Saugus, JC Choy, Paxton Cudd and Chase Lindemann each had two hits.
