The Golden Valley varsity softball team beat Wilson High of Long Beach, 7-1, on Thursday in the TNT tournament at Wilson Park in Torrance. Sophia Medellin went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double and a walk.
Cassidy Cangemi homered and struck out 10 in the circle.

The Vikings (3-3) beat Rio Mesa at Valencia Country Club on Thursday behind Cole Scully’s 79.
Jackson Bright shot an 80, while Zach Vallesteros shot an 88.

Einstein (1-5) earned its first win of the season Thursday by turning a game-ending triple play with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Keeli Javan hit a home run for Einstein, while catcher Beatriz Panduro went 5-for-5.
