The California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section released the playoff brackets for boys’ soccer on Saturday, featuring six teams from the Santa Clarita Valley who are set to play in the first round.
Out of the six teams, five are set to host their respective first-round matchups.
All six teams will play on Wednesday for the first round of the playoffs, with winners advancing to the second round, set to be held on Friday.
Here’s a look at Wednesday’s matchups:
Valencia vs. Arroyo
After winning the Foothill League title on the last day of the regular season, the Valencia Vikings are set to host their first-roundmatchup in the Division 4 playoffs.
The Vikings will match up against the Arroyo Knights of El Monte, who finished the year 18-1-5 overall and 9-0-3 in the Mission Valley League.
The Knights are ranked 121st in California according to rankings on MaxPreps, while the Vikings finished the year as the 171stranked team.
The match between the Vikings and Knights is set to kick off at 5 p.m. at Valencia High School.
Saugus vs. Pacifica
The Saugus Centurions, who finished the year second in the Foothill League standings, will host the Pacifica Tritons of Oxnard in Division 4.
The Centurions ended the year going 3-2-1 in the team’s final six games, and finished the season ranked 254th in the state,according to MaxPreps.
The Tritons finished ranked 106th, as they ended the year 14-4-3 overall.
The match between the Centurions and Tritons is set to kick off at 5 p.m. at Saugus High School.
Hart vs. Linfield Christian
The Hart Hawks, who ended the regular season at 7-4-5 overall, are set to host the Linfield Christian Lions in the first round of the Division 5 playoffs.
The Lions finished the regular season 7-7-4 overall and champions of the Ambassador League with a 6-1-1 record.
The Lions ended the season ranked 659th in the state, according to MaxPreps, while the Hawks finished at 324th.
The match between the Hawks and Lions is set to kick off at 5 p.m. at Hart High School.
Golden Valley vs. Palmdale Aerospace Academy
Despite finishing the year fifth in the Foothill League standings, out of contention for an automatic playoff berth, the Grizzlies were awarded an at-large bid into the Division 5 playoffs.
The Grizzlies will be the host in the first round as they are set to match up against the visiting Palmdale Aerospace Academy Griffins.
The Griffins ended the regular season as champions of the Heritage League with a 7-0-2 record and finished the year 10-4-3 overall.
The match between the Grizzlies and Griffins is set to kick off at 5 p.m. at Golden Valley High School.
West Ranch vs. Tustin
The Wildcats ended the season only winning one match in January and accumulating a 1-2-4 record in the team’s final seven games.
Despite the finish, the Wildcats earned the fourth spot in the Foothill League standings and will host the Tustin Tillers in the first round of the Division 5 bracket.
The Tillers, who ended the season 12-6-4 overall, are the Orange Coast League champions and are ranked as the 428th team in the state, according to MaxPreps.
The match between the Wildcats and Tillers is set to kick off at 5 p.m. at West Ranch High School.
Trinity Classical Academy at Ganesha
The Knights, who ended the year third in the Heritage League standings with a 4-2-4 record, hit the road for the first round in Division 7.
The team is set to play against the Ganesha Giants of Pomana, who finished the regular season 7-15-2.
The match between the Knights and Giants is set to kick off at 5 p.m. at Ganesha High School.
