The California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section released the playoff brackets for girls’ soccer on Saturday, featuring four teams from the Santa Clarita Valley.
All four teams will play on Thursday for the first round of the playoffs, with winners advancing to the second round, set to be held on Saturday.
Here’s a look at Thursday’s matchups:
Hart at Canyon of Anaheim
In the Division 1 playoffs, the Lady Hawks will begin their postseason run on the road matching up against the Canyon Comanches of Anaheim.
The Lady Hawks have a tough matchup for the first round as the Comanches finished the regular season 14-3-2 overall and as the Crestview League champions. The Comanches are also the 21st ranked team in the state, according to MaxPreps.
The match between the Lady Hawks and Comanches is set to kick off at 7 p.m. at El Modena High School in Orange.
Saugus vs. Laguna Beach
After winning the Foothill League title on the final day of the regular season, the Lady Centurions will host the Laguna Beach Breakers in the first round.
The Breakers, who ended the regular season 6-3-4 overall, finished third in the Pacific Coast League with a 2-2-4 record.
The Lady Centurions hold the edge over the Breakers with the home matchup as Saugus ended the year as the 113th ranked team in the state, according to MaxPreps. The Breakers ended the year as the 196th ranked team.
The match between the Lady Centurions and Breakers is set to kick off at 5 p.m. at Saugus High School.
West Ranch vs. Crean Lutheran
The West Ranch Wildcats, who finished the season with a 7-6-4 overall record and third in the Foothill League standings, have a tough first-round matchup on the road as they face off against Crean Lutheran.
Crean Lutheran, which ended the regular season 5-3-7 overall, finished the year as the 86th ranked team in the state, according to MaxPreps.
The match between the Wildcats and Saints is set to kick off at 5 p.m. at Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine.
Valencia vs. North Torrance
Rounding out the SCV teams in this year’s playoffs is the Valencia Vikings, the top seed in the Division 3 playoffs.
The Lady Vikings, who ended the year 5-7-4 overall and fourth in the Foothill League standings, will host their first-round matchup.
The team is set to host the North Saxons of Torrance, who ended the year 11-4-2 overall and third in the Pioneer League standings.
The match between the Lady Vikings and the Saxons is set to kick off at 5 p.m. at Valencia High School.
