Girls’ basketball: Valencia’s Kamilla Basyrova earns Player of the Year honors in all-league selections

The Foothill League has released its all-league selections for the girls’ basketball 2025-26 high school season and Valencia’s sophomore Kamilla Basyrova is this year’s player of the year after leading the Vikings to a league title with a 12-0 record.  

Player of the Year: Kamilla Basyrova, sophomore, Valencia.  

This season, Basyrova was third in the Foothill League in scoring with 19.5 points per game and led Valencia in scoring.  

Basyrova ended the year shooting 51% from the field and tallied 8.4 rebounds per game, third best in the Foothill League.  

In a win against Saugus in January, Basyrova became the third-ever sophomore in Santa Clarita Valley girls’ basketball history to reach the 1,000-point career milestone.  

Basyrova also ended the year breaking her own single-season 3-point record at Valencia High School with 115 threes on 44% shooting, passing the previous mark of 94.
