Following a loss to the Saugus Centurions in West Ranch’s last Foothill League softball contest, the Wildcats bounced back with an 11-2 road win over the Vikings at Valencia High School on Tuesday en route to their 17th win of the season.

The Wildcats’ (17-7, 8-2) offense came alive as the team tagged 13 hits across seven innings of play.

West Ranch improved to 8-2 in Foothill League play but remained second in the standings with two league games left to play.

The Wildcats have a scheduled bye from league play on Thursday but return on Friday for a matchup against the Canyon Cowboys at home with first pitch scheduled for 3:15 p.m.

As for Valencia (9-7, 5-4), the loss dropped the Vikings to 5-4 in Foothill League play but they held the fourth spot in the standings over the fifth-place Castaic Coyotes.

The Vikings remain in playoff contention should they hang on to the fourth spot with an automatic qualifier and will look to bounce back on Thursday in league play in a road matchup against the Cowboys with first pitch scheduled for 3:15 p.m.

After Tuesday’s games, here are scores from around the Foothill League:

Saugus 6, Hart 2: The Centurions (17-8, 10-0) completed a home win over the visiting Hart Hawks (11-12, 6-4) with three different Saugus players hitting home runs.

Olivia Frias, Savanna Smith and Tatum Kurowski each homered in the victory and drove in all seven runs en route to the win.

The Centurions clinched at least a share of this season’s Foothill League title but will look to win the championship outright on Thursday with a home matchup against the Golden Valley Grizzlies at 3:15 p.m.

The loss dropped the Hawks to 6-4 in league play but they held third place in the standings.

The Hawks will look to bounce back Thursday at home against the Castaic Coyotes at 3:15 p.m.

Canyon 18, Golden Valley 8: The Cowboys (7-16, 2-7) secured their second Foothill League win of the season with a victory over the Grizzlies (4-16, 0-10).

Both games are scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m.
