After the Saugus Centurions, Golden Valley Grizzlies and Valencia Vikings advanced past the second round and into the quarterfinals of the boys’ tennis California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section playoffs Friday, all three teams were defeated in their respective matchups on Monday.
Here are scores from Monday’s quarterfinals:
La Serna 10, Valencia 8: Following a narrow second-round win over Vista Del Lago, the Vikings were defeated on the road in their quarterfinal matchup against the La Serna Lancers of Whitter in the Division 5 playoffs.
With the loss, the Vikings are eliminated from the playoffs.
San Marcos 12, Golden Valley 6: After a third-place finish in the Foothill League standings, the Grizzlies’ season came to an end in the quarterfinals of the Division 5 bracket to the San Marcos Royals of Santa Barbara.
With the loss, the Grizzlies are eliminated from the playoffs.
Yula (Yeshiva) 14, Saugus 4: After securing back-to-back playoff wins in the first and second rounds, the Centurions had their season end in the quarterfinals of the Division 7 playoffs to the Yeshiva University of Los Angeles Panthers.
With the loss, the Centurions are eliminated from the playoffs.
