In the second round of the girls’ lacrosse California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section playoffs, the Valencia Vikings and Saugus Centurions were the two remaining teams from the Santa Clarita Valley to play.
But in the end, both teams were handed defeat in their respective matchups that ended the girls’ lacrosse season for the Santa Clarita Valley.
Here are the scores from the second round:
Edison 17, Saugus 11: In the second round of the Division 2 bracket, the Centurions were on the road Thursday after a narrow first-round win over Culver City.
But in the team’s second-round road matchup, the Centurions fell to the Edison Chargers of Huntington Beach by six goals.
With the loss, the Centurions are eliminated from the playoffs.
Northwood 10, Valencia 5: After securing the program’s first-ever playoff win in the first round over the Heritage Patriots of Menifee, the Vikings fell in the second round on the road on Thursday to the Northwood Timberwolves of Irvine.
With the loss, the Vikings are eliminated from the Division 3 playoffs.
