For the second consecutive season, two local flag football programs advanced to the semifinals of the California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section playoffs as Valencia and West Ranch won their respective matchups on Tuesday.

Here’s what happened in the quarterfinals:

Valencia 19, Compton 14: For the first time in program history, the Valencia flag football team is semifinals-bound after the Vikings (15-10-3, 9-3) secured the quarterfinals home-win over the Compton Tarbabes on Tuesday.

The win comes after the Vikings secured their first-ever playoff wins in the first and second rounds and continues their historic postseason run.

In the semifinals, the Vikings will look to hit the road and clinch their bid into the Division 3 championship in a matchup against the California Condors of Whittier.

In the quarterfinals, the Condors secured a 25-6 home win over Moorpark and snagged their 12th win of the season. And going into Saturday’s matchup against the Vikings, the Condors are ranked as the No. 129 team in the state of California, according to MaxPreps.

The Vikings are ranked as the No. 124 team and look to have the edge to advance to the championship.

Saturday’s semifinals matchup between the Condors and Vikings is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at California High School in Whittier.

West Ranch 26, Kaiser 7: Following a Division 4 finalists finish last season, the West Ranch flag football continued its playoff success for the 2026 playoffs after the Wildcats (10-10, 6-6) clinched their bid into the Division 4 semifinals with a win over the Kaiser Cats of Fontana.

The Wildcats secured back-to-back semifinals appearances and will look to win on Saturday as they play host to the Hemet Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs, who defeated the Canyon Cowboys in the first round of the Division 4 playoffs, recorded their 14th win of the season following a home win over Garden Grove in the quarterfinals.

Going into Saturday’s semifinals matchup, the Wildcats look to have a favorable matchup as the Bulldogs are ranked as the No. 249 team in California, according to MaxPreps. The Wildcats are ranked as the No. 199 team and, with a home matchup, seem to have the edge to make the program’s second-consecutive California Interscholastic Federation Southern Section finals appearance.

Saturday’s semifinals matchup between the Bulldogs and Wildcats is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at West Ranch High School.
