West Ranch girls’ golf bags fourth league win, Wildcats’ Aubrey Lee dominates with bogey-free round

West Ranch’s Aubrey Lee is just a freshman, but that isn’t stopping her from taking over the Foothill League after she extended her season-long lead with a bogey-free fourth round on Thursday at The Oaks Club at Valencia.  

Lee finished Thursday’s fourth round with medalist honors with four birdies on the scorecard and shot a total score of 32 (-4) en route to recording the lowest score on the Wildcats.  

Through four rounds of play, Lee has shot a total season-long score of 137 and holds command of first place of the individual season standingsby nine strokes over second place.  

In second place, it’s tied between West Ranch’s Phoebe Tsao, who shot a 37 (+1) on Thursday, and Valencia’s Kara An. Both golfers have shot a total score of 146 through four rounds.  

An led all Vikings following Thursday’s round with an even-par round of 36. 

Not far behind in third place in the standings, West Ranch’s Zoe Greif holds the spot with a season-long score of 147. Greif ended the fourth round with a total score of 39 (+3).  

As for team play, the Wildcats secured the fourth-round win with a total team score of 193 with Lee ending the day as the lone golfer to record an under-par round on the scorecard.  

The Valencia Vikings ended the fourth round in second place with a total score of 213 and finished behind the Wildcats by 20 strokes.  

In third place, the Saugus Centurions finished the fourth round with a total score of 262 and were led by Ruby Johnson who shot the lowest score on the team. Johnson ended Thursday’s round with a 43 (+7) on the scorecard.  

In fourth place, the Castaic Coyotes finished behind the Saugus Centurions by 29 strokes by a total team score of 291.  

Castaic’s Addy Fractor led all Coyotes with a final tally of 49 (+13) following Thursday’s round. 

Rounding out the official team score, the Hart Hawks ended the fourth round in fifth place with a team score of 311.  

Hart’s Elsie Craig-Forcum, who’s 10th in the season-long individual standings, ended Thursday’s fourth round with a score of 48 (+12).  

As for Canyon and Golden Valley, both teams did not report official team scores with only both teams fielding four golfers for the fourth round.  

For Golden Valley, Izabella Pauley finished the fourth round out of the four Grizzlies who submitted a score with a 54 (+18) on the scorecard. And for Canyon, the team was led by Mady Morgan, who led all Cowboys with the lowest score with a 63 (+27).  

The Foothill League will return for its fifth round of play on Tuesday with teams set to tee off at noon at the Oaks Club at Valencia.
