Donald Trump’s opponents have a vocabulary all their own. For them “fascism” is another word for American conservatism. Patriotism is “nationalism.” Equality under the law is “white supremacy.” Constitutionally limited government is “the end of democracy as we know it.” Freedom is “authoritarian.” And individual rights are “oppression.”
