Does liberalism run on empathy and compassion?
Or fear and hate?
You could argue that folks hated Hitler out of compassion for the innocent Jews he slaughtered.
But it’s a lot harder to say liberals hate Donald Trump — and equate him to Hitler — out of compassion for the criminal aliens he deports. After all, sympathy for rapists and murderers, wife beaters and human traffickers, is absent in any other context.
So liberals are defending these criminal aliens, because they are driven by opposition to Trump. Hate leads them to ignore or excuse actual criminality, while pretending that lawful deportations are a crime.
