In reference to the letter by Peggy Stabile (Sept. 19), I find it very difficult to consider people like California Gov. Gavin Newsom and former President Barack Obama “leaders” and people like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert “celebrities.” I would not “follow” the former anywhere or “celebrate” the performances of the latter. Hence, in situations such as this I think it best to refrain from citing questionable references and attributing to them qualities that are debatable. In short, if I was a Democrat I would not rely on those four characters to support my case.
