Ken Keller | Common Ground on Courthouse

I seldom agree with Mr. Gary Horton, but in his column on Nov. 19 is one that I am 100% behind.

An eight-story courthouse in the middle of prime retail and lodging establishments in Santa Clarita is nothing less than insane. In my opinion, the Callifornia Judicial Council is sending a message to the third-largest city in L.A. County that we are unimportant and need to be taken down more than a few notches so that we’ll mirror the downtrodden and deteriorated neighborhoods of Van Nuys, San Fernando and Chatsworth.

If I wanted to live in those places I would have moved there 35 years ago. Instead I chose Santa Clarita because it is safe, clean and filled with a population of law-abiding residents and visitors.

Gary was wise to provide contact information for those people and organizations that we need to communicate with that the decision to pour thousands of criminals into this valley needs to be reversed. I’ll be reaching out and encourage every reader of The Signal to do the same.
