Re: Gary Horton commentary, “Here Is the Worst Investment America Keeps Making,” Dec. 3.

The “worst investment” The Signal “keeps making” is to print Gary Horton’s continuing blithering nonsense. It is hard to understand why The Signal wastes ink on his rants.

Today Gary claims Venezuela should not be held accountable for the drugs they ship illegally to the United States. Why? Because according to Gary, Venezuela’s chief export is oil, which is something the U.S. does not need if we were to exploit all the assets our country possesses.

Gary also seems to believe China is wonderful as they “continue to build as we bleed” — without realizing China’s entire economy is dependent on having a customer capable of purchasing what they build, and the only country in the world with an economy large enough to do it is the U.S.

If the U.S. is not allowed to prevent the flow of illegal drugs into our nation by whatever means necessary, and stopped doing it because of Horton’s Trump Derangement Syndrome, it will not be long before our good life will end. But that may be just what Gary’s Port friends want, and that is why I look out the Starboard side of things instead.

How about you?
