Noticed half-mast flags at the Acton/L.A. County Library. Having missed the memo, I learned they’ve been down the entire month of November in loving memory of Dick Cheney, the Republican vice president whose “neocon” philosophy, not to mention the imaginary “weapons of mass destruction,” swayed President George W. Bush to launch the Iraq War, resulting in the death of thousands of American servicemen and women and, at best, a pyrrhic victory.

So why did California, a state where Cheney never held a job let alone ever resided, honor (him)? Because Gov. Gavin Newsom, in his shameless desire to earn acolyte approbation and secure the next Democratic presidential nomination — since he couldn’t elbow Kamala Harris out of the way last time — paid Cheney the ultimate patriotic tribute because he, along with his hysterical, jobless daughter, opposed President Donald Trump.

California flags fly at half-mast as this clown focuses on his 2028 campaign instead of fixing the many problems of the once Golden State. Nero Newsom fiddling while L.A. burns — literally.

Gavin Newsom, the man whose bio has long featured the myth that he was a star baseball pitcher for Santa Clara University and drafted by the professional Texas Rangers when in fact he was never on the team. Gavin Newsom, the governor whose incompetence and corruption has run California into the ground, including his recent Proposition 50 folly, which cost we the people over $250 million despite a state budget mired in prodigious debt. Gavin Newsom, ignoring our homeless epidemic and the state’s plummet to the bottom of the national public education barrel along with his pivotal role — along with clueless companion Karen Bass — in putting DEI over firefighting, policing and every other governmental function.

And let’s not forget he and his toadies dining out at a swank eatery somehow still open at the peak of the pandemic when the rest of us were locked in our homes while countless restaurants were forcibly shuttered, many permanently, or simply forced to move to another state where they can do business without being regulated and permitted to death.

If the “No Kings” crowd faced the facts they’d be demonstrating against him. Sadly, they’re incapable of either.
