I just read the article in the Jan. 24 issue of The Signal regarding L.A. County giving sidewalk vendors a $2.8 million grant. Once again, I am ashamed of Los Angeles.
In the scope of a government budget it probably isn’t much, but when insurance companies still haven’t paid their customers in the burn areas and the L.A. Fire Department has to go to the ballot to increase the sales tax so they can get equipment and personnel, this is a shameful act.
Cancel the Department of Economic Opportunity and move that money to buy one new fire truck or rebuild some houses. We do not need any (more) sidewalk vending carts.
