Jonathan Kraut ends Part II of his top 10 New Year’s wishes for 2026 by asking, “What are the odds that these easy fixes will be enacted pronto?”
“Easy fixes”! That was rich. This particular column (Jan. 27) might win an award in the category of satire — and that was sarcasm.
Well, Mr. Kraut, my casino’s oddsmakers calculated that you’d have better chances of picking all of the winning numbers for the Powerball.
Easy fixes, and “pronto” no less. So, let’s go buy some lottery tickets, but I wouldn’t hold my breath, especially for either side of our government to enact any fixes to anything pronto.
