What do the states of California, Colorado, Illinois and New York have in common? No, it’s not that each of those states have large pockets of dystopian hellholes. No, it’s not that people are leaving in droves, other than Colorado, I imagine. It’s not even the amount of fraud, crime, cost of living, or any other qualities that make living in those states so much harder.
What those states have in common is that they are the only four that have allowed taxation on tips and overtime, contrary to tax law federally and in the other 46 states. Fifty-three million people benefitted this year by paying less income tax because of President Donald Trump’s “No Tax on Tips and Overtime.” But those four states say no way. “That’s our money!”
I wonder how many of those 53 million vote for Democrats? I would guess a majority and maybe a substantial majority do. Once again people are voting against their own best interests and all I can wonder is if they are stupid or uneducated or just don’t mind the old way of paying taxes for tips and overtime.
What is definitely true is that once again Democrats are displaying their indifference and probably disdain at the working class electorate that they used to pretend to care about. God forbid enough people wake up and decide to use their vote intelligently in this state and maybe, just maybe, give the other side a chance at governing? You literally have nothing to lose and much to gain.
