Is there anyone out there who thinks Gov. Gavin Newsom has done a good job? If so, what metrics do you use to support that opinion? Has he done a good job on homelessness? Crime? Rebuilding after the fires? I realize he’s not in charge of rebuilding but then that assumes there is nothing he could do to support the effort. I reject that notion.

How about poverty? Education? The cost of living? The train? How about being a good steward of our money and at least pretending to try to do something about fraud?

If you think as I do that he hasn’t done anything of merit, and what sentient being would think otherwise, how in the world could you justify voting for him for president? If you think as I do that he’s been terrible, why in God’s name would you think the likes of Eric Swalwell or Katie Porter would do better? Are these two people the best the Democrat Party can offer to run this massive and complicated state? Seriously, those are the choices?

I submit once again that the job of a political leader is to solve problems, not ignore them, and certainly not to make them worse. It is pathetic that this is the best we can do and I would be ashamed if I were to vote and support one of those cretins. Tom Steyer at least talks about problems. Doesn’t offer solutions, but it’s a start.
