The recent news of Rick Patterson’s passing and tributes written about him reminded me how fortunate I was to meet Rick when starting our law practice in Santa Clarita in 2002 after relocating from downtown L.A. Rick was everything positively described about him and then some — a gentleman’s gentleman and one who made himself available to talk about the law or cases we were respectively working on. I admired Rick. His voice of reason in the local legal community will be missed.
