Have you heard? The latest trend on the American left is to imply that Donald Trump’s war in Iran has echoes of Putin’s war in Ukraine. It’s a great feint …
Except we aren’t invading Iran or targeting its citizens and it’s lasted weeks, not years, and we’ve had overwhelming success instead of stalemate and quagmire.
And, Ukraine didn’t fund terrorism and chant “Death to Russia” for 47 years while threatening nuclear holocaust, or kill 30,000 of its own citizens on the eve of the war, or shoot missiles at a dozen peaceful nations.
Women weren’t raped by the Ukrainian regime, nor did they take hostages, preemptively kill Russians, or partner with Russian foes.
But in fairness there is one big “echo” — the American left protests in favor of both Ukraine and Iran, even though Iran backed Russia against Ukraine, and even though Russia backs Iran against us now.
