After reading the letter from Kevin T. Kelly(April 4), ceding implied approval of the proposed courthouse to the State Judicial Council, I re-read the story in the March 28 Signal about Marsha McLean’s activism, page B3.

She makes the point that we citizens of the Santa Clarita Valley don’t need to assume that something put upon us by a higher government agency is a done deal, if we don’t like the hand being dealt. Mr. Kelly criticizes (columnist) John Boston for trying to stimulate us into standing up against the hand the state is trying to put on us.

Ms. McLean and Mr. Boston are right that we should have a voice in such a thing that we obviously don’t want. Let’s all get busy and resist the Judicial Council’s proposal before it gets any later in the fight. Email [email protected] to protest; or at least to ask for more sense in their site selection.

The story broke, rather suddenly, in The Signal way back in November of last year. McLean said that many people got involved against the Elsmere Canyon dump, and we were saved from that. And we might be saved from the ill-advised monster courthouse if we get off our backsides as Boston has urged.
